While this event has already occurred, we hope the “Map the Headwaters” workshop inspired you to continue to create.

This is just a quick reminder to submit your work for possible inclusion in the Creative Gene Art exhibition, which will take place in December.|

Submit a piece or two that was inspired or in some way influenced by our collaborative efforts during the workshop. Perhaps you wrote something entirely new? Perhaps you were inspired to go back to a formerly written piece with new intention? Either way, we would love to see the outcome.

It was a fun and productive workshop, so thank you for your creative and compelling  participation.

Please submit by October 27.  Send your work in an Word attachment here.

In this workshop, we will explore the sources that guide us on our creative journeys. Inside each of us are swirling currents of inspiration. Streams of experience flow from headwaters – whether rough or smooth, deeply-branched, or straight and quick, from influences historical and ancestral or newly discovered. We will leave the workshop with renewed understanding of what moves us to create, giving rise to ideas and drafts that will deepen future writing. This workshop is a precursor to Creative Gene, an exhibition pairing the work of artists linked by family, opening on December 1st at the Hicks Gallery on the BCCC Newtown campus. Some of the writing generated in the workshop will be featured at the opening receptions.
