ARGO WRITER’S CIRCLE
It’s April and—what?—we have another Argo Writer’s Circle coming up! Actually two! The turnout for the March meeting was bigger than we’d anticipated and, what with introductions and all, we were only able to share and give feedback on four pieces.
So this month, we’ll break the group into two smaller ones, one of which will meet on Saturday, May 17th from 10 am to 12 noon, and the other on Saturday, May 24th also from 10 am to 12.
The groups will each be capped at seven participants, which should give us ten to fifteen minutes apiece for each writer.
You are asked to bring eight (8) copies of your piece. If you want to copy them when you arrive, please get to the library by 9:45 to do that.
To reserve your spot, please contact us by May 12th to specify your preference in workshop

John Timpane Workshop
In this workshop, we’ll discuss why to review and how to stay focused simultaneously, always-always, in vivid, responsible detail, on the poetry and on the reader.

Write about it...
Here’s your invitation to write!
Choose a key. Examine it, imagine sliding it into a lock. Let the key inspire a piece of poetry or prose. Perhaps this key will unlock a door you need to have opened. Perhaps it is the key to lost memories, to future adventures, perhaps . . .

WRITING THIS MOMENT: POEMS FOR CURRENT EVENTS
Current events poetry can be a personal catharsis, an exploration or commemoration of an issue or a moment in time, or a public reckoning.
In this workshop, we will study, explore, and categorize current events poems as well as write and share our own—and, most importantly, will discuss and review submission strategies sure to get them published.
